LITTLE BARCELONA – For its 1st edition, the fair is expected 60 brands

Next Sunday 5th and Monday 6th of February, Little Barcelona, the new show dedicated to fashion and children’s universe, will hold its first edition in which consolidated brands and new designers will meet. The initial forecast of its organizers was to have the presence of more or less 40 firms, however, given the success of the call it has been extended to more than 60 that eventually will participate.

The success of this initiative confirms the strength of a sector, children’s fashion and childcare, which in Spain reached 1,074 million Euros bill in 2010, according to data provided by ICEX. This represents an increase of 8.59% over the previous year, largely driven by exports.

This is the first time Barcelona will host a children’s clothing trade fair and the city does so in a time when the Spanish brands betting took time to participate in international fairs.
31.2% of sales in this sector are due to sales in foreign markets such as Italy, Portugal and United Arab Emirates, the main recipients of Spanish children’s fashion and childcare.

With the creation of this new fair, many Spanish brands that previously participated in international fairs, have the opportunity to return to show their creations in their own country.

The preregistration for the next edition to be held in Barcelona on 15 and July 16, 2012 is already opened.
